In today’s world of Internet and information, it seems as though everyone is trying to find a way into someone else’s business.  This is essential to prevent and the only way to do that is to have a high level of security.

One thing you may not know, however, is if you are connected to the Internet you are vulnerable to exploitation.  There are a few things one can do to prevent this from happening, though.  One simple thing is to install a router to mask your identity from others on the outside world.  This keeps others from knowing your business is there and can provide an efficient way for others in the work place to connect to the Internet.

With the Blaster worm that ravaged the nation, it is apparent that those connected to the Internet not only need hardware installed, but also software.  Windows Updates are extremely important because they are known exploits in the Windows operating system that have been corrected.

Anti-virus software is also a must have in today’s Internet environment.  Whether it be a small 2 or 3 person network to the larger hundred or thousand user networks, anti-virus software is necessary.
